Chocolate Milk and Laundry
I’m trying to simplify my life so why is it so hard to let some things go? I detest folding laundry. Yesterday, for the millionth time, my husband offered to fold all the laundry. He’ll put it in piles for me to put away. Why is it so hard for me to say, “OK.”? He doesn’t mind doing it. The kids love to be in our room when he’s there and they put away their own clothes. That would leave me just mine to put away. Can somebody please hit me with a DUH stick?! I am going to do my best to let that one go. It will give me the 15 - 20 minutes in the evening to do a short workout uninterrupted as well as removing a major stressor in my life.
I started South Beach today. It was hard not having my english muffin for breakfast, but the real test has been the chocolate milk in the fridge. The kids had some for lunch and I so wanted some, but I didn’t. For crying out loud, how can I say this doesn’t work if I can’t even stick with it for two weeks? It is only 13.3 days now. And as long as I don’t put too many capers in the broccoli again, I think I’ll be okay. Those little suckers are salty!
Now I must go clean my kitchen. I haven’t done this much cooking in one day in ages.
Sounds like fun ?? I never cook more than an occassional grilled cheese - so kudos to you for cooking a healthy meal for yourself and family!
Let it go - the laundry I mean. It is awesome how your husband wants to take this off your hands. Just let him. I hate laundry as well. I hate sweeping and mopping even more. I know I would never build another house again but if I did, it would be smaller! Sounds like you are doing great in all the other areas. Keep it up.
LOL!! Yes, South Beach requires a lot of cooking it seems!! The good thing is that you’ll learn to cook healthy and the foods can be very tasty. My boys have been eating SB food for about a week now and they haven’t even noticed! LOL! I fooled them! The only thing is that they have their stuff with rice and that’s the part I skip. For snacks, they eat Mexican sweet bread from a nearby bakery. So it’s a win-win for me, they get their unhealthy snacks while at the same time I sneak in healthy, wholesome foods and I stick to my diet! Like I said, WIN WIN. Stick to it girlfriend, it’s been a life changing experience for me!
I say let the laundry issue go woman! lol If your hubby is willing then let him! I wish Ro would offer to do it! Well, he does sometimes but I do it ALL THE TIME! lol….
Are you wanting to give in on SB because you feel hungry? Maybe you need to eat more of the things you are allowed to eat. Check out that site that Jayne posted on the SB sun bathers forum. I re-posted it so no one would have to go looking for it. There are alot of great recipes there. Take out the meat of some of them and you are good to go.
I made this great side dish last night. It is called creamy potatoe casserole. The ‘potatoe’ part is really cauliflower….let me know if you want the recipe and I will be more than happy to email it to you! Hang in there D!
