My husband’s challenge

My husband challenged me to workout every single day from now until the end of November.   We aren’t going anywhere for Thanksgiving and he is taking the week off so I don’t see any reason why I can’t do this.  I even got myself off the couch and took the pup for a 45 minute walk to night at 8:30.   Don’t particularly like walking that late, but since I hadn’t done it earlier.

Exercise is one thing that I have been forcing myself to do, no matter how late in the day.  There is generally no reason for not having done it earlier.  I’m treating it like I do the dishes.  If I let them pile up so that they won’t all fit in the dishwasher I do the ones that don’t fit in by hand.  It’s only happened twice since I made that a self imposed rule.  I needed to do something to force myself into action and this tactic seems to be working.

I think this is a great thing your husband is doing for you. He’s showing support in his own way and that’s by throwing out that challenge to you. I think forcing yourself to exercise is the best way to go. It’s not the funnest thing to do but exercise gets results, plain and simple. I think you can do it the rest of this month. Just think of the results you could see from it!

I think it’s great that your hubby challenged you. By the end of the month, it may be a habit and on top of that you’ll see results. It will keep you going past that. Good luck!!

I have also challenged myself in this way. I told myself that I need to workout every day this month and not have a cheat day either. I want to lose my 8 lbs! My scale is not moving though! :( I know yo can do it Diane! Sometimes, as much as we don’t want to workout, we always feel better after we do it.

Well, I made a similar commitment to myself. I have been TRYING (not very successfully) to make it to the gym at 5am. I went this morning to swim and thought how nice it would be to be able to take a shower there and get ready for work. I decided that if I make it at least 5 days per week for the rest of the month, that I would rent a locker and stock it with shower stuff. I want to make sure it is worth my time before investing the $$.
