Ups and downs

Yesterday I was getting discouraged by how long it takes me to walk a mile.  It seemed like I’d been needing less time when I first started walking.  I measure according to my pedometer since I can input my stride distance.  Decided to recalculate it.  My stride has increased by 4 inches!  I kept rechecking because I didn’t believe that was correct.  It also explains why the treadmill at the Y said I’d done a mile when my pedometer said I hadn’t.   Tis encouraging to not have to do as many steps to cover the same distance.  It also puts me a lot closer to doing 3 miles in 45 minutes than I thought I was.

I tried on my capri pants again today and I can’t zip them anymore.  Does anyone else have the problem that if you cut back on water you retain it more?  I’m not talking from 64 ounces down to 20, I mean 128 ounces down to 100.  It’s insane.

Other than that blimp, oops, I mean blip, today was pretty good.  We took the kids to the children’s museum and ended up getting a membership.  They loved it.  After a very late lunch, we all went swimming for a while.  I wasn’t so into that today since I’m still having some shortness of breath issues from the bronchitis, but it was mainly because my beloved Red Sox where beating up on the White Sox on Fox, one of the handful of games I get to see a year.

Now I must work on a newsletter for a group that I don’t even participate in much.  Thought it would be a good way to get more involved, but the only thing it does is stress me out and take up 3-4 evenings a month.  I don’t think there really is anyone that cares about it, but I was the one silly enough to say I’d do it.  Oh, well, at least I’ve learned how to run MS Publisher out of it.  I’d much rather be trying out my new cake decorating tips.  No, no icing for me!  Just want to have another skill I’ll never put to good use.  So fun annoying my hubby with that! :)

Have a good one!

Good for you increasing your stride. Nice job! And as far as the pants are concerned, maybe you are retaining more water because you ate more salt recently? I just know that some days my clothes fit great and some days they are just a little more snug then usual. Anyway, have a good night!

Hey Diane! That is great about increasing your time and stride! That has to make you feel good! I wouldnt worry too much about the pants thing. I have the sane issue sometimes. Just keep doing all the right things. As for the group thing, if you don’t get anything out of it and it stresses you out, maybe you need to find something else to do and that you enjoy. No fun being stressed out over something you don’t really enjoy. Well, have a great day!

That’s really good that you’re increasing your stride. As time goes by you will be able to knock a mile out like nothing. You’re doing a really great job!
