Going Crazy
Grocery shopping with children should be banned! If I can possibly help it, I am never taking my kids shopping alone again! The older one kept trying to push the younger one out of the seat and the younger one was more than happy to be out of it. They finally settled down - as I got to the check out line. I didn’t do too badly with what I bought, but I did have to put a few impulse things back before I checked out. It’s a long, slow process, but I’m getting the hang of non-emotional shopping. Menu planning helps tremendously along with the fact that there are so many other things I’d like to spend my money on besides food I don’t need.

But it is now almost 1 day closer to the weekend so that’s something to smile about. Off to work out.
Oh the joys of grocery shopping with young children!
I don’t miss those days!! I am lucky now that my two oldest are teens and I always leave one of them home to watch the other two if my husband isn’t home. Have heart though, before you know it those days will some day be gone for you too!
If you can, leave the kiddies home, but if you can’t, eat a healthy snack before you go shopping so you’ll have less an urge to impulse buy. I have 2 “rugrats” of my own, so I know how you feel.
Diane, I so feel your pain! I absolutely hate to go grocery shopping with my 3 yahoos! It makes me crazy!!!
I try to wait until Roman gets home so I can leave them all at home!! Most of the time Roman wants to go too so then I have to deal with 4 yahoos!!
Have a great workout and work hard!!!
When Jarod was 3 yrs old he had a fall on the floor, screaming, crying, rolling around tantrum at the grocery store. I swear to you I was waiting for his head to spin around and him to vomit pea soup.
What was the tantrum over you ask? What was it that he wanted me to buy him?
TAMPONS! He really liked the blue box.
Hang in there. Our stores have cookie cards that are good for one free cookie per visit. I find if their mouths are full, they are quieter.
I am so lucky, my kid’s are great when I go grocery shopping. I try and incorperate my son’s help, he helps pick out the fruit and veggies putting them in the bags.
At our grocery store they have shopping carts that look like cars, the kid’s love them. The carts have steering wheels so we criuse around the store with no problems.
I won’t take them when they’re tired though because I know their patience is nil..
