Weight loss confusion

A while ago I read that to help boost metabolism one was supposed to stay cooler so the body had to work harder to keep warm.  Then today I saw that people tend to eat more when they’re cold!  I tend to think that the later is more true for me since I have gained nearly 100 pounds since getting married.  My husband likes the house a little chilly and I have adapted.  I think I’m going to give up on reading the latest research since it always contradicts an earlier study and then another comes along that discounts both the previous one!  I need to figure out what works for me, short of being 23 again, living in Poland and walking everywhere I went.  Isn’t this journey called life fun?

I don’t know about climate.  The only things I have heard that helps boost metabolism is just consisiten exercise and working out in the mornings so that your metabolism is up all during the day instead of peaking just at noon.

Well, I think you just learned a big lesson…

You can find “documentation” to support or deny most major theories, in life, weight, health, politics, etc…

For every article, there is a counter article…For every study a counter study…

So yes, you have to kind of weed through it, follow your gut, and pick what works for YOU…

    Good luck!

Finding what works for you is the only thing that works.  And yeah, it takes a lot of trial and error.

Well I think others here are right there is documentation to support most theories out there.. I also tend to think that body temperature isn’t going to sway your weight loss enough to concern yourself with it.. I think it is much more important to look at calories in vs calories out… Don’t get frustrated though.. it all seems very confusing sometimes I know..
